How to Choose the Right Hair Extension Type?

Hair extensions can add length, volume, and color to your hair. Depending on your hair type, you can choose from pre-bonded keratin or tape extensions, or clip-in or weft extensions.

Pre-Bonded Keratin Extensions

Pre-bonded keratin extensions are made of individual strands of natural or synthetic hair that are pre-tipped with a keratin-based adhesive and secured to your hair with a hot fusion or cold fusion technique. This type of extension is semi-permanent and can last up to four months with proper care.

Keratin extensions are great for adding length, volume, and color to hair that is medium in thickness and texture. These extensions work best for those with straight to slightly wavy hair.

Tape Extensions

Tape hair extensions use thin strips of double-sided tape to attach single strands of hair to your own hair. These extensions are semi-permanent and can last anywhere from three to six weeks before needing to be removed and re-taped.

Tape extensions are great for adding length and volume to thin and fine hair. If you have straight to slightly wavy hair, these extensions will work well for you.

Clip-In Extensions

Clip-in hair extensions are the most temporary type of extension, as they are applied and removed daily. This type of extension is made up of individual strands of hair with an attached clip that is used to secure them to your own hair.

Clip-in extensions are great for adding length, volume, and color. They are suitable for all types of hair, including thin and fine hair, as well as straight to slightly wavy hair.
